Vincent Simone has married his long-term love Susan Duddy in a ceremony that was exclusively covered by HELLO! magazine. The former Strictly Come Dancing star and his fiancée said "I do" on Saturday 18 July, in the bride's native Londonderry in Northern Ireland.

Vincent and Susan, who exclusively announced their engagement to HELLO! magazine last year, had their friends fly over to the Emerald Isle, however, not all could make it.

Vincent Simone and Susan Duddy have tied the knot

Fellow professional dancers James and Ola Jordan were on the guest list but were "gutted" to have missed out.

James, who previously starred on Strictly, sent a message to the bride and groom on Twitter, writing: "To my mate @vincentsimone and the beautiful Susan. I hope you have the best day ever. Congratulations on getting married today."

The 37-year-old then followed it up with: "@Matthew_Wright please give @vincentsimone and Susan a big hug from me and @The_OlaJordan We are so gutted we couldn't be there."

Matthew Wright, who took part in I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! alongside Vincent, shared a selfie on the day of the wedding. Making reference to the role he played on his friend's big day, Matthew wrote: "Ready to be the bestest man @vincentsimone will ever know. Extraordinary venue too... #vincentandsusie."

The couple got engaged on Christmas day

Vincent, 36, and his long-term girlfriend Susan got engaged on Christmas Day. The couple are parents to two sons, Luca and Matteo, who were born in 2009 and 2013. Speaking exclusively to HELLO! magazine after their engagement, TV favourite Vincent revealed how he popped the question with his usual panache.

"I went with my heart on the spur of the moment on Christmas morning and gave her a Christmas card in which I wrote: 'Will you marry me?'" he said.

"I am a bit of a showman and had hoped to do something spectacular but both Susan and myself have travelled and lived exciting lives so I thought perhaps the most surprising gesture of all would be to do something understated in our cosy home on Christmas Day.

"Whilst she was reading the card, I did a pirouette and presented her with the ring on bended knee. I was quite emotional."

Susan jokingly added: "Vincent is very theatrical and will want to make a big production of it. I have already told him that if he had his way, he would be the bride!"
