Girls star Allison Williams played the blushing bride to perfection as she married her long-term partner Ricky Van Veen. The American sweetheart followed in the footsteps of many celebrity brides before her, choosing to wear an exquisite Oscar de la Renta wedding dress for the ceremony.

Allison announced her happy news on Instagram and shared a breathtaking photo of herself and her new husband Ricky strolling hand-in-hand outdoors, against a fairy tale backdrop. A representative confirmed to HELLO! that the pair were married on Saturday.

The actress looked beautiful in her full length gown that featured a nipped-in waist, demure high neckline and long sleeves. The bespoke gown was finished with a floral overlay, and Allison, 27, topped off her romantic look with a flowing veil.

Ricky, the founder of popular comedy website CollegeHumor, was pictured admiring his new bride. The 34-year-old looked equally dapper in a dark suit and a red striped tie.

Allison simply captioned the photo "9.19.15", referencing the date of their wedding.

According to People, the lovebirds exchanged vows at the Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming – a venue that houses both a lodge and a spa, where guests can enjoy horseback riding, fishing, hunting and campfire dining.

Girls' co-stars Zosia Mamet, Lena Dunham and Jemima Kirke were all in attendance

The star-studded guest list included Allison's co-stars Lena Dunham, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks' wife who plays Allison's on-screen mother. Additional reports claim that Tom acted as an officiator during the ceremony, while Katy Perry, John Mayer and Seth Meyers were also said to be in attendance.

Allison and Ricky announced their engagement in February 2014 after dating for three years. The daughter of former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams had to postpone her wedding plans when her father faced criticism for false reporting in February 2015.

Brian misrepresented his coverage of the US Invasion of Iraq and was consequently suspended without pay for six months, and reassigned to another network.

Ricky, 34, popped the question to Allison, 27, in February of last year

At the time Allison defended her dad, telling Seth Meyers on Late Night: "One thing the experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man. He's a really good man. He's an honest man. He's a truthful man. He has so much integrity. He cares so much about journalism.

"And yes, he's a really good dad. I know you can trust him because, as any good daughter does, I've tested him on that."
