Nicole Kidman gave full support to daughter Isabella's wedding

October 7, 2015

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are said to support their daughter Isabella's marriage despite not being there on her big day. Further details have emerged about the 22-year-old's wedding to IT consultant Max Parker, which was held at London's Dorchester Hotel on 18 September.

Pictures posted by friends on Facebook show Isabella in a white A-line lace mini dress teamed with black tights and bold red lipstick, while the groom wore a simple white shirt and suit trousers. Eschewing tradition, Isabella's four bridesmaids all wore pink jumpsuits before changing into all-black ensembles for the evening celebrations.

Although neither Isabella nor Max's families were present, they are said to support the marriage, which comes less than a year after the couple started dating.

Contrary to reports, Isabella's mum Nicole is said to have been aware of the marriage and played a part in preparations for her daughter's big day. The actress, who is currently starring in Photograph 51 in the West End, is also believed to have met Isabella and Max for a private dinner the day before the wedding.

A source told Mail Online: "Isabella and Max met in London through friends. The ceremony was low-key but very expensive. Tom picked up the bill and paid for everything, but it was decided that neither he nor Nicole should attend as it would have turned the whole event into a circus."

They continued: "Nicole was actually involved with the wedding preparations and she did have a private dinner with Bella and Max. But she didn't go to the ceremony. Also, the animosity between Tom and Nicole was probably a factor."

Tom picked up the bill for the "low-key" ceremony, which is said to have featured a mix of Scientology and Christian rituals as Isabella shares her father's belief in the faith. Although Max is not believed to follow the religion, one of his groomsmen Fabiano Calcioli is said to be a known Scientologist.

Mission Impossible star Tom and Nicole, who divorced in 2001, adopted both Isabella and her younger brother Connor during their 11-year marriage. Although they have since parted ways and welcomed children in different marriages, Tom and Nicole are said to still play an active role in their lives, with Isabella and Max spending Thanksgiving and Christmas with the Mission Impossible star in 2014.
