A Chinese model, actress and singer has had the wedding of her dreams, with a ceremony that was reported to cost £20million. Angelababy, whose birth name is Yang Ying and English name is Angela, married her long-term boyfriend Huang Xiaoming in Shanghai earlier this month.

The couple officially wed in private five months ago, but decided to hold a spectacular second wedding for no fewer than 2,000 guests at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre on 8 October.

About 100 of the antendees were fellow celebrities, and the celebration was live-streamed on the internet.

Angelababy turned to Dior to create the haute couture dress of her dreams, which took five months to make. The satin organza ivory gown was covered in dozens of Chantilly lace flowers which were sewn on by hand.

A total of seven petticoats of 50 metres of tulle made up the skirt, while a three metre-long train completed her look.

Angelababy and Huang, who first started dating six years ago, exchanged vows on a lit-up stage for all their guests to see, and the bride was presented with an intricate Chaumet diamond wedding band, said to cost £1million, The Telegraph reports.

Photos from the big day were shared online, with one picture showing the newlyweds about to cut their gargantuan cake, which stood taller than them.

Angelababy, 26, and actor Huang, 37, flew to Paris before the wedding for their official photos. The lovebirds posed against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower, with the bride modelling a series of Elie Saab couture gowns.

Guests left with goody bags that included a Meitu phone, a company Angelababy represents. It is believed that parts of the wedding were sponsored by brands, who received exposure in return.

While she is relatively unknown in the West, Angelababy is a hit in China. The 26-year-old has been dubbed the Kim Kardashian of the Far East and had 58 million followers on China's version of Twitter, Sina Weibo, as of May 2015.

She started modelling at the age of 14 under her stage name Angelababy, which is an amalgamation of her English name and her childhood nickname.

The dark-haired beauty, who is said to pull in £4milllion annually, has appeared in largely Chinese films but next year she will star alongside Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum in Independence Day: Resurgence.

Earlier this week Angelababy sued a clinic for defamation after they claimed she had had plastic surgery on her face. The actress allowed doctors to examine her face and during the consultation she invited journalists to observe.

"Baby's entire head and facial bones do not have any signs of incisions," hospital chief Qi Zuoliang said, according to local media.

Huang also defended his new wife, saying: "Actually she sometimes looks quite ugly to me. I'm not an idiot, I definitely can tell she hasn't had plastic surgery. Sometimes she doesn't put on make-up and she really looks like those ugly pictures of her."
