Say HELLO! to GC Couture's 2016 wedding cake collection, aptly called the Seasons of Sugar. The luxury cake designer unveiled their new range on Tuesday and HELLO! Online was one of the few select guests to attend the event.
The cakes, which are available to view and order from 1 November, take guests through a delectable journey from spring to winter.

"Height is a big feature of the Seasons of Sugar collection, simply because it creates more impact and the 'wow' factor," said director Marie Sinclair.

Over 50 tantalising flavours are on offer, but a favourite for winter cakes is fruitcake without the bits.

"While this year's collection is quite eclectic in style, we wanted to maintain a unifying element of timeless, classic beauty," said Marie.
"Many couples, while enjoying the unique statement element of our couture cakes, are very drawn to traditional shapes and designs."

The designers have really pushed the boat though, and haven't been afraid to experiment with topsy-turvy cakes.

"We've created a signature look of sugar flowers cascading in a waterfall effect," said Marie.
When designing a couture cake, size, texture, height, shape and colour are all taken into account.

"Our cakes our designed so that in years to come couples perusing old magazines will still gasp and say 'that's the one!'" said Marie.
A popular flavour in autumn cakes is cinnamon.

"We put forward our inspiration for the upcoming collection, based on trends, patterns and sketches," said Marie.
"In this way, we like to think that we are creating trends in the world of cake design, which is really exciting creatively."
