Love was in the air at the Loose Women studios on Friday, when Dan Evans surprised his girlfriend Natasha Manning by asking her to marry him. The star of reality TV show 10,000 BC: Two Tribes popped the question live on air, in front of the panellists, audience and thousands of viewers at home.

Dan was speaking about his relationship and how he split up with his girlfriend of eight years before going off to film the TV show. The programme forces contestants to live in Stone Age conditions, to see if they can survive two months in the wilderness.

After being away from his girlfriend, Dan Evans realised what he was missing

During his time in the forests of Bulgaria, the groom-to-be nearly died of food poisoning. He soon realised that what he missed most was his girlfriend.

"You get isolated, you get taken away from your family and friends, things from home, and then you realise what you miss the most," said Dan.

"We are back together," he clarified. "But she keeps saying I need to ask her out, she says she's still single after eight years. I never thought you'd have to ask someone out again."

When pressed by the panellists to ask Natasha out again, Dan went one step further. He had secretly planned to propose to his long-term love and striding up to Natasha, who was seated front row in the audience, Dan said: "I could ask her back out I suppose."

The couple have been together for eight years

He then got down on one knee and pulled out a diamond ring in a box, asking: "Will you be my wife?"

"Oh my God," says a shocked Natasha, hugging her boyfriend and unable to speak.

"Is that a yes? Is that a yes?" says Dan, echoed by the Loose Women panellists.

"Yes," says Natasha, still in shock.

A picture of the bride and groom-to-be was posted on Twitter, showing Natasha holding a beautiful bouquet of red roses.
