Kate Upton had some big news to share at the Met Gala on Monday; she is engaged to long-term boyfriend Justin Verlander. The 23-year-old model proudly showed off her beautiful diamond engagement ring for the first time as she posed on the red carpet in a striking metallic gown. "I'm really excited, he asked me right before season started so we've been keeping it on the down low for quite a while," she told E! News of her engagement to the Detroit Tigers baseball star. "So I'm excited to finally be able to share it with the world."

She added that the couple are both "really enjoying their engagement", and have no wedding plans just yet.
Kate looked stunning as she arrived for the gala in a custom-made Topshop glittering silver gown, with her hair styled in classic waves and wearing smokey eye-makeup. But all eyes were on her ring, which was designed especially for her by her future husband.
Kate and Justin, 33, went public with their romance at the start of 2014 after a few months together – and she joked in March that their three year relationship "seems like forever in Hollywood".

She said the secret of their success was "communication". "We're very open with one another and we're each other's best friends," she said. "He's definitely my best friend, so I think that helps a lot. "Justin, meanwhile, has previously described his romance with Kate as very "normal". "Kate's there a lot for me," he told Forbes magazine. "And we're just normal people. You know, a normal relationship – believe it or not."
