Her fiancé Justin Verlander pulled out all the stops to present her with the perfect engagement ring, working closely with designer Anita Ko to ensure everything was just right for his bride-to-be. Speaking to E! News about the beautiful diamond band, top jeweller Anita revealed: "Justin and I collaborated on creating the most perfect one-of-a-kind ring that is rare and of exceptional quality...just like their love."

Kate, 23, revealed the exciting news of her engagement to baseball star Justin on the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday. It was then that she gave fans and fashion watchers their first look at her sizable engagement ring, which has been estimated to have cost Justin a huge $1.5million.Mark Keeney, vice president of fine jewellery company Ritani, put the sizable price tag on the ring in a statement to Us Weekly this week. He added that the band appears to feature a round eight-carat diamond "set in a six prong setting with even more diamonds throughout".

Kate and Justin, 33, went public with their romance at the start of 2014 after a few months together – and speaking in March this year she joked that their three year relationship "seems like forever in Hollywood"."We're very open with one another and we're each other's best friends," she said when asked about the secret of their successful romance. "He's definitely my best friend, so I think that helps a lot. "Justin, meanwhile, has previously described his romance with Kate as very "normal". "Kate's there a lot for me," he told Forbes magazine. "And we're just normal people. You know, a normal relationship – believe it or not."
