Lady Charlotte Wellesley marries Alejandro Santo Domingo in spectacular wedding

May 29, 2016

Lady Charlotte Wellesley looked absolutely radiant as she wed Colombian financier Alejandro Santo Domingo in a lavish ceremony in Spain on Saturday.

The daughter of the Duke of Wellington arrived at the 16th-century Church of the Incarnation in Illora with her father to exchange vows with her fiancé Alejandro, a Colombian-American tycoon with a net worth of around £3.2 billion.

The bride wore a gown designed by Emilia Wickstead

After an initial struggle to get out of the car with her spectacular dress intact, the bride was all smiles in her stunning off shoulder, long sleeved wedding gown designed by Emilia Wickstead, which she accessorised with an elaborate veil adorned with small polka dots while styling her long brunette hair in an elegant bun.

Meanwhile, Alejandro looked delighted after emerging from the church with his new bride in a handsome grey suit and tailcoat as the couple posed for photographs together.

The residents of Illora gathered on the streets and balconies with flags in celebration of the wedding and congratulate the newly married couple.

Among the guests was family friend Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, who sheltered under an umbrella on her way into the church while wearing a frilled white dress and pearl necklace.

Camilla kept of the rain on her way into the church

James Blunt and his wife, Charlotte's cousin Sofia Wellesley, were also seen at the ceremony as they laughed while entering the church without umbrellas, hurrying to get out of the rain.

Both the Duchess of Cornwall and James Blunt were also among guests at the couple's pre-wedding drinks on Friday night. A guest gave a small insight into the celebrations by sharing a short video of Alejandro surprising Charlotte, and the two of them kissing.
