The son of an Armenian billionaire has married his bride in a lavish ceremony in Russia, costing an estimated £1.4million ($2million). Sargis Karapetyan, 23, and his 25-year-old bride Salome Kintsurashvili pulled out all the stops for their big day, which included a performance from Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5.

Hosted at the famous Moscow restaurant Safisa, the extravagant affair saw Salome wear not just one but three wedding dresses, including an embellished Elie Saab couture gown accessorised with £138,000 ($200,000) worth of Tiffany and Co jewellery.

Guests entered the venue through a magical forest, which included thousands of real flowers and colourful trees set up by florists Aram and decorator Gennady Samokhin. Meanwhile a flower wall proved the perfect backdrop for the newlyweds and their guests to pose for photos, which were shared on Instagram under the hashtag #sarkissalome.

As one would expect from a fashion expert, Salome's wedding attire was truly breath-taking. The beautiful bride looked like a fairytale princess in her designer gowns, which included a lace off-the-shoulder Alessandra Rich dress worn for her official photos.

Indeed, some of Salome's 500 guests said they felt as if they were in a fairytale at the extravagant wedding, which took place in Moscow at the weekend.

The venue was transformed into an enchanted forest, complete with a nine-tier cakecovered in flowers

The newlyweds got the evening entertainment underway by changing into traditional dress to perform an Armenian wedding dance before Russian singers Alla Pugacheva and Vera Brezhneva took to the stage.

WEDDING CAKE TRENDS FOR 2016

Guests were also entertained by musician Timati and Maroon 5, who invited the bride up on stage to congratulate her during their performance.

However one of the most impressive elements of the couple's big day proved to be their wedding cake, made by baker Abulsharaf Eyad. The nine tier wedding cake stood at six metres tall and was decorated with white flowers – a confection that looked almost too good to eat.
