One Show presenter Alex Jones rang in 2016 as a new bride after she married New Zealander Charlie Thomson in a magical ceremony at Cardiff Castle on New Year's Eve. "It was spectacular," the TV personality told HELLO!. "Everyone says it's the best day of your life and it just exceeded my expectations. I enjoyed every single second. "I'd told myself not to let it pass in a blur, because it really is quite overwhelming and nerve-racking. But I really did love it, seeing all my friends' faces. And then once I held hands with Charlie, I thought, 'We're right.'"

Kimberley Walsh and Justin Scott

Kimberley Walsh and her long-term love Justin Scott tied the knot on the Caribbean island of Barbados at the start of the year. "This wedding, being surrounded by the people we love, has been everything we hoped it would be and so much more," an ecstatic Kimberley told HELLO! shortly after the nuptials. "I would do anything to be able to turn back the clock and start it all over again. There's so much we haven’t been able to take in, but I'm sure we'll spend our whole honeymoon reliving it. It's a day we will cherish for the rest of our lives." The couple began dating in 2004, when they were both signed to the same record label with their bands Girls Aloud and Triple 8. They got engaged in September 2014, with Justin getting down on one knee in hospital, just moments after Kimberley had given birth to their son Bobby.

Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley

Margot Robbie officially became a married woman after tying the knot with longterm boyfriend Tom Ackerley this month. The 26-year-old took to her Instagram page to make the big announcement, sharing a photo showing her displaying her beautiful new wedding ring while kissing her British director husband. The couple started dating in 2013 after meeting on the set of World War II drama Suite Française in France. Margot has since been living in London with her partner and friends in a small Clapham apartment.

Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall 

Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall married in a low-key civil ceremony at Spencer House in March. The couple were introduced by Rupert's niece Penny Fowler in Australia late last summer. They confirmed their romance at the Rugby World Cup Final in October, and made their first red carpet appearance at the Golden Globes in January, before announcing their engagement in The Times newspaper the following day.

Eva Longoria and José Bastón tied the knot in a private ceremony in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, on May 21. The lovebirds got engaged in Dubai last December after going public with their relationship in November 2013. In an exclusive interview with HELLO!, the actress revealed how best friend Victoria Beckham was on hand to support her on her big day. "Victoria was one of my witnesses, too – she signed the paper that says I was here – so it was a Victoria Beckham weekend," she confessed. "She was the best, sweetest person to have there on this day. Not only did she do my wedding dress but she's one of my best friends so for her to be there was so special."

Liberty Ross and Jimmy Iovine walked down the aisle in February after three years of dating. The model was romantically linked to the producer since February 2013, shortly after she filed for divorce from her first husband Rupert Sanders – the director who had a brief affair with Kristen Stewart in the summer of 2012. The couple hosted their wedding reception at David Geffen's Beverly Hills mansion, and guests including Oprah Winfrey, Pharrell Williams and Lady Gaga.

In June, actress Catherine Tyldesley and Tom Pitfield exchanged vows in front of family, friends and co-stars at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire. The bride, who wore a stunning bespoke Philip Armstrong wedding gown, said the day went absolutely perfectly. "It was my dream come true," she told HELLO!. "I had been looking forward to this moment for so long. Tom and I are very traditional and it was important for us to show our deep commitment to each other."

Ciara and Russell Wilson officially became husband and wife in July after tying the knot at Peckforton Castle in Cheshire. The signer posted a touching photo of the wedding party, as they posed for a group photo against the backdrop of the castle's grounds. "God Is So Good," she wrote. "Thanks To @DennisLeupold For Capturing This Special Moment Of My Husband @DangeRussWilson and I at The #PeckfortonCastle With Our #BridesmaidsandGroomsmen. #DreamsComeTrue."

Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger tied the knot at the Palazzo Cavalli, in Venice, in July. The couple, who met two years ago, took to Instagram to share photos of themselves before the wedding. "Time To Go!!!" the tennis player captioned a snap of herself posing with her bouquet. "It's time," footballer Bastian wrote in a similar tweet.

Gregg Wallace and Anne-Marie

MasterChef host Gregg Wallace married Anne-Marie Sterpini at Hever Castle in Kent on 6 August. The pictures from the big day were shown exclusively on HELLO! magazine. Gregg - who has been married three times previously - said he has found his dream girl in Anna. "Meeting Anna has brought me what I think I've always been searching for – that big, warm family dynamic and there's real strength in that," he said before adding: "I'm very conscious of people thinking I just do this willy-nilly. But we haven't rushed into this – we've been together for three years and I truly have never met anyone like Anna."

Agyness Deyn said "I do" to hedge fund manager Joel McAndrew in a beautiful summery ceremony in Brooklyn Heights in New York City, this summer. The couple's friend, fashion designer Henry Holland, shared snaps of the couple on their big day, writing: "So much [love] @aggy_deyn @joelmcandrew." The model had previously opened up about her upcoming wedding day, telling Daily Mail: "I've never been one for the fairytale, storybook wedding."

In September, former Sugababes band member Heidi Range married her partner Alex Partakis in a stunning ceremony in Tuscany. She took to Twitter on the morning of her wedding, excitedly writing: "I'm up & today's the day! Marrying the kindest & most gorgeous man I have ever known, my @alexpartakis. It's like Christmas but better!" The couple were engaged in May of last year after meeting through her personal trainer back in 2014.

Danny Dyer exchanged wedding vows with his childhood sweetheart Jo Mas in an intimate ceremony in the beautiful walled garden of a country hotel in Hampshire on 3 September. Michael Phelps officially became a married man in October. The Olympic star tied the knot with his girlfriend, Nicole Johnson, in a romantic ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The special occasion marks the second time round for the pair after they wed in secret in June this year. Taking to his Instagram page over the weekend, the competitive swimmer shared a beautiful picture from their special day. In the caption, he simply wrote: "My best friend.... I love you!!"
