Emily, 31, and British actor Josh, 29, were first romantically linked back in January 2012. The pair – whose characters Emily Thorne and Daniel Grayson got married in season three of Revenge – have largely kept their romance out of the spotlight. But in a 2014 interview with InStyle Australia, Emily stated: "I have a wonderful love in my life." She added: "Trust is the most important thing in any relationship, because everything falls into place after that."

The Canadian actress has also previously spoken about the importance of maintaining a divide between the couple's personal and professional lives. "Josh and I keep it all very separate," she explained to Elle Canada. "I barely talk about him in interviews, to be honest. It's just really funny in the moments when we're playing these absolutely absurd things."

It's been a big week for Emily, who not only got engaged and is celebrating her 31st birthday on Friday, but her new show The Resident was also picked up by Fox. According to Variety, the hour-long medical drama follows idealistic young doctor, played by Manish Dayal, on his first day under the supervision of a tough, brilliant senior resident (actor Matt Czurchy), who pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day medicine.
