As we gear up for the biggest wedding of the year, the day Prince Harry and his wife-to-be, Meghan Markle, say ‘I do’, we’ve started to get obsessed with all things bridal. And now, we're much happier knowing wedding day decorated bouncy castles are a thing. That's right, a company in the North East do fancy bouncy castles that are available for wedding hire. Just look at how swish they are… The castles measure about 17 feet by 20 feet by 13 feet and they get bedazzed with wedding-worthy flowers.

We talked to Paul from A Wedding Wonderland and he revealed where the idea came from. “The idea was born out of the realisation that depending on the venue there is generally very little for children who are attending weddings to do. It’s not uncommon to see parents frantically chasing children round venues during speeches and meals etc. It’s a long day, so a bouncy castle is a great way to keep them entertained.”
But it’s not just for kids! “The castle has also appealed to adults attending events and they have just as much fun with it as the kids do. It’s made for some great photo opportunities,” Paul tells us.
If you don't want flowers, choose colourful party decorations
As we’ve pointed out, the overall look of the bouncy castle is chic and nothing like the bouncy castles we know and love. Paul agrees, telling HELLO!: “I think it’s fair to say not many people want a giant inflatable green caterpillar creeping into the background of their wedding photos, so we tried to create something that would fit seamlessly into the landscape of a prestigious wedding venue, if not actually add to it. It would have been easy to stop at just supplying a white castle but lots of companies provide this and we wanted a more bespoke feel to our product, so we had the castle specially designed to accommodate the edition of flowers, drapes and other decorations that can be altered to match a clients wedding theme.”

The company, which is a small business based in the North East, is going from strength to strength, and the demand is getting a lot bigger: “We’ve had clients offer to fly us out to the United States, South Africa and slightly closer to home in Ireland,” Paul reveals. “The level of response worldwide has been incredible and people have been willing to pay all our travel and accommodation expenses if we’ll supply their big day.”

So far, they’ve not been asked to supply a bouncy castle for the royal wedding and sorry Harry and Meghan, the company are actually busy that day. Having said that, Paul does say that he’d totally be up for a call from the Palace, should they fancy placing an order.

Prices for the hiring of a bridal bouncy castle costs from £200, and when asked if he has any advice for brides on the bouncy castle, he said: “Have fun and make sure if you’re doing backflips it’s before the meal or too much Prosecco!”
