Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez left fans confused after sharing photos with his fiancée Gemma Atkinson on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old shared two close-up photos of the couple holding hands to show the progression of their relationship, writing: "2022 vs 2019." The first showed himself and Gemma with their fingers entwined while their two-year-old daughter Mia rested her hand on top, and the actress' sparkling diamond engagement ring was visible.

In the second, Mia's little hand was absent to symbolise that she hadn't been born and Gemma's ring finger was bare.
After seeing the snaps, some of Gorka's followers assumed the couple had split since Gemma wasn't wearing her ring, while others thought they had only just got engaged!

"Oh! Thank goodness for that! I thought for a second you guys had split?!! #alliswell," commented one, while another asked: "Are you two tying the knot?"
"Awww huge congratulations!! I wondered if that was the Gonna happen on your holiday…xxx," wrote a third, who thought their engagement news was new. Another added: "Thought you got engaged ages ago."

Gemma and Gorka started dating a few months after meeting on the set of Strictly Come Dancing back in 2017, and the pair welcomed their first child Mia on 4 July 2019.
The pair have been engaged for over a year after the father-of-one popped the question on Valentine's Day in 2021. Announcing the exciting news, the couple shared the same photo of Gemma kissing Gorka on the cheek on Instagram and gave fans a glimpse of Gemma's stunning engagement ring in the process.

The Emmerdale star added the caption: "Valentine's forever… Of course I said yes," while Gorka wrote: "The best day with my forever Valentine's. I asked and she said YES! Happy Valentine's Day everyone."
At the time, Taylor & Hart valued the ring at an estimated £11,900 and said it appears to feature a 1.50ct centre oval diamond set in platinum, with a fishtail pave diamond band.
