After weeks of rumours, Kate Bosworth has finally shared details of her engagement to Justin Long – and her ring is incredible.
The couple became friends while working on House of Darkness together in 2021, and two years later, Justin planned to pop the question on Kate's 40th birthday before switching up his plans following a therapy session. Kate first hinted that she was engaged when she stepped out on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in March 2023 wearing a black and cream gown accessorised with a large diamond rock on her left hand. According to experts, the price tag could be just as impressive, with estimates reaching up to $500k.
"Kate's massive diamond ring appears to be at least 10 carats. I'd estimate its value at half a million dollars. A diamond of this size is incredibly rare, and it's likely Justin spent a lot of time selecting the perfect stone.
"Set on a thin band, her ring showcases her enormous diamond, making it a dazzling focal point," explained Mike Fried, CEO of The Diamond Pro.
Meanwhile, wedding and engagement ring specialist Jessica Flinn-Allen has said the diamond may be half the carat size which would reduce the cost. "Kate Bosworth's engagement ring which she debuted at the Oscars is a large round brilliant cut solitaire, with an approximately 5ct centre stone at the centre, value up to around £125,000 ($155,986)," she said.

Kate shared a series of loved-up photos with Dodgeball star Justin on Instagram to share her exciting news with fans. "These things are funny to announce. How to do this right? He’s going the distance? I’ve got a Blue Crush? He’s just THAT into me? I’ve won a date with…??? Ok you get it!" wrote Blue Crush actress Kate, before adding that they have opened up about their relationship and proposal in the podcast Life is Short.
"If life is short, find the one who brings you endless peace and radical wonder. @justinlong I am so grateful it’s you. Xo," said Kate, who was previously married to Michael Polish.
Justin explained the low-key proposal came about "so naturally" following a trip to therapy. "We had just gone through this really hard thing and we had spoken to a therapist and we were trying to move through things at the time and she gave us a really great piece of advice which was: Make sure that you're pretty consistently asking the other what you need, or asking the other what they need," Kate said.
"I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session... I smiled at you, and I said, 'What do you need?'
"And he really looked at me and he said, 'To spend my life with you.' And I smiled and I said, 'Well, yeah, you have that. Oh my gosh, you have that,' and he said, 'No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you,'" she recalled.
"The words just came out, like, so naturally," Justin added.
