Brides don't always choose a traditional wedding dress – some choose minis, some want jumpsuits, and others ditch white altogether – but Suzie Fletcher took the meaning of unconventional to the next level with her wedding outfit!
The Repair Shop star was discussing her long-term marriage to her husband, who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2013, when she confessed that they got married on a whim during her lunch break.
"I didn't know I was getting married that day either," the saddle maker admitted to Catherine Carr on the Relatively podcast.
"So [my husband] said, 'Do you ever think about getting married?' and I said, 'Oh, I don't know,' and he said, 'Well, why don't we go and see what it would take because you're a foreigner,'" she told host Catherine.

"So we went to the registry office in Boulder, Colorado and they said, 'Well, you can do this, that or the other, or you can get married now,' and he said, 'Yep. Let's get married now."
Without months to plan her big day, Suzie hadn't considered her bridal outfit and happened to be dressed for the warm weather that day. Her casual ensemble included a sports bra and shorts, and she said of her groom's outfit: "My husband had come straight from work so he had dried mud up to his knees, a cut-off T-shirt and a baseball cap on the wrong way round."
"He was a typical redneck, what a delightful pair we were," she joked.
Suzie spent 22 years in Colorado before her husband passed away and she moved back to the UK and joined her brother Steve on The Repair Shop – something she admitted helped her "heal."
She explained she hadn't planned to spend that long in the US in an interview with The Times.
"It was supposed to be temporary but I met somebody in the US, and married him — in my lunch hour, as it happened, which isn’t the done thing, is it? I lived with my husband in Colorado for the next 22 years — we never had children — and it was very much a western life, a ranching life."
