Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham have several reasons to celebrate this month – not only have they marked their first wedding anniversary, but they have also enjoyed an Easter celebration and Victoria Beckham's birthday.

Many couples think long and hard about their wedding date, factoring in weather, venue availability and other meaningful anniversaries. In fact, Victoria and David's son and Nelson Peltz's daughter may have deliberately chosen April as their wedding month for a very special reason.

Chef Brooklyn and actress Nicola tied the knot on 9 April 2022, almost precisely five years from the day they met. During a chat with Vogue, Nicola explained they were first introduced to each other at Coachella music festival in 2017, which falls on 14-23 April.

"We didn’t get along at first," Nicola recalled, but the duo eventually hit it off and went public with their relationship in November 2019.

The couple got engaged in July 2020 and had planned to tie the knot in the summer of 2021, but they delayed it several times amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"When the world was in lockdown, we went through different variations of what a wedding would look like," Nicola explained. "We weren’t sure if we should do a small one earlier and then a big party. Eventually, we decided we wanted the big wedding as soon as it was possible to do it safely. And we’re so happy we did. It was amazing to be in the presence of so many people we love again."

After some last-minute hitches with wedding planning, which has since seen Nicola's father Nelson sue the planners, Nicola and Brooklyn exchanged vows at her family's impressive home in Palm Beach, Florida, estimated to be worth a whopping $103 million (£76 million).

Brooklyn looked dapper in a custom Dior suit, while Nicola opted for an elegant halterneck Valentino Haute Couture wedding dress with a strappy back. Her decision not to wear a dress from her mother-in-law's label later sparked rumours of a family rift, but she has shut down these reports on several occasions.

"I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realized that her atelier couldn't do it, so then I had to pick another dress," she told Vogue.

"She didn't say you can't wear it; I didn't say I didn't want to wear it. That's where it started, and then they ran with that."
