Eccentric pop star Michael Jackson has announced plans to celebrate his 30th anniversary as a solo artist with a gala celebration in September at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden. The self-proclaimed King of Pop will be joined on stage by the rest of Jackson 5, teen dreams Britney Spears and ‘N Sync, as well as Whitney Houston, Marc Anthony and R&B divette du jour Jill Scott.

The lavish production, billed as Michael Jackson: The Solo Years 30th Anniversary Celebration, will feature a 300-member gospel choir, a 200-member children’s chorus, and a 48-piece orchestra. The performance will mark Jackson’s first US concert appearance since his Bad tour in the late Eighties.

“I am very excited to celebrate my 30th anniversary as a solo artist with such a distinguished array of talent, friends and fans,” said Michael in a statement. “I look forward to performing live and reuniting with my brothers on this special night.”

Jackson, who was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, will reportedly sample songs from his long-in-the-works forthcoming album, duet with several of the guests including Britney, and moonwalk alongside his brothers for a Jackson 5 segment.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale this June for the show which will also be taped and edited for a television special.
