Tennis star Boris Becker announced yesterday that he had split from rapper Sabrina Setlur. The former champion of Wimbledon, nicknamed “Boom-Boom” for the terrifying speed of his serve and volley, had gone public with the relationship just four months ago, but it seems that their love could not last the distance.
“We are no longer an item,” said the 33-year-old, who was linked with investment banker Zoe Appleyard on a recent trip to London. “But we understand each other very well and telephone a lot.”
Twenty-seven-year-old Sabrina, once voted Germany’s most erotic woman, also spoke of the split. “The pressure we were under was enormous,” she claimed. “It is extremely hard to build something when one doesn’t have a private moment.”
Private moments are something that Boris has not had a lot of recently. His separation from wife of seven years, Barbara Feltus, the mother of his two sons, hit the front pages in November last year, and he was also slapped with a paternity suit by Russian waitress Angela Ermakova. She claimed that her daughter Anna, now a year old, had been conceived following a tryst in the broom cupboard at London restaurant Nobu with the former tennis ace. DNA tests later proved that “Boom-Boom” was indeed Anna’s father.
