Irish band U2 are set to perform at Saturday’s Frock ‘n’ Roll Festival in Barcelona alongside Grammy winner Macy Gray, the Fugees’ Wyclef Jean and the legendary Chrissie Hynde. The politically active band, known for their tireless charity work, will take the stage in support of the Nelson Mandela Foundation for Children accompanied by supermodels Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and Elle Macpherson.

Naomi Campbell is also expected to attend the two-day event, which includes a Friday night dinner featuring a possible performance from Elton John. “It is something close to my heart and I care very much about the fund and foundation,” said Naomi, one of the first big name celebrities to support the charity. “The Children’s Fund must be known internationally, as well as loved and respected.”

Bono and the boys, who have just wrapped up the North American leg of their tour, should have some extra cash to donate when they arrive in Spain. With their latest album reaching worldwide sales of 10 million coupled with the success of their 2001 Elevation tour, the Dublin-based rockers are now said to be the world’s richest band.

Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen will likely bank £50 million each this year alone, topping the £38 million members of the Rolling Stones pocketed last year. Tour receipts for U2 have topped £60 million, while merchandising royalties are expected to hit the £15 million mark.
