BILLIE PIPER TELLS RECORD BOSSES HER POP DAYS ARE OVER

Billie Piper’s pop star days could be over as the 18-year-old singer has reportedly told bosses at record company Innocent that she’s retiring. Billie was due to release a third album this year, following the dismal sales of her last effort, Walk Of Life, but it now seems Mrs Chris Evans will leave teen pop to Britney and the other girls.

Billie reportedly met with executives from Innocent, an offshoot of Virgin, earlier this summer to discuss her career. And despite initial career success with the single Because We Want To – number one when she was just 15 – Billie has since tired of the music industry and aims to return to her first love, acting.

“Billie has had enough,” said one source. “She has said that she has given her pound of flesh to the record people. She has told Virgin that they have had the benefit of her growing up years, and she doesn’t want to give them any more.”

“She wants to move on,” reports the insider. “She is retiring as a pop star.”

Billie married millionaire and fellow Brit DJ Chris Evans, who last month parted ways with Virgin Radio, in May in Las Vegas.
