Previously, her preferred holiday destination was the South of France, but this year Joan Collins has plumped for the Spanish island of Majorca. Alongside new beau Percy Gibson, the 68-year-old actress cut a dash on the Balearic paradise over the weekend on board the magnificent yacht Gemini.
Joan has made no secret of her quest to stay in shape – and it certainly showed. Wearing a white swimsuit with plunging décolleté and a sleeveless white shirt, topped off with a hat, the actress paid a visit to her close friend Valentino, the Italian fashion designer, who has been responsible for many of Joan’s show-stopping outfits.
The reason for the switch in Mediterranean countries could have something to do with Joan’s ex, Robin Hurlstone. Twelve years ago, the antique dealer spotted a pretty Spanish-style hacienda in the village of La Croix Valmer, close to St Tropez. The actress spent £2 million on it before she and Robin renovated it and filled it with antiques.
Last month, Joan put the property on the market for £3 million, perhaps feeling that the place held too many memories for her. Robin, who was reportedly devastated by the split, is said to be shocked that his ex-love has put the house up for sale.
