Westlife hunk Bryan McFadden and his girlfriend, former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona, have become parents for the first time. The pint-sized blonde gave birth to daughter Molly, who weighed in at 8lb 2oz, last Friday, at Dublin’s Mount Carmel Hospital.
“I burst into tears and Kerry did too,” said 21-year-old Bryan. “It was a beautiful moment. Both Kerry and Molly are amazing. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. I am thrilled and still can’t believe it has really happened. Kerry was amazing through the whole thing and we are both in dreamland. Molly is so beautiful.”
The tot’s arrival into the world was not the easiest of births – Kerry was in labour for 18 hours and the hospital described it as “quite difficult” – but the 20-year-old is now looking ahead, having weathered the delivery. “We are going to spoil her rotten and I am not ashamed to say that,” said Kerry emotionally. “I didn’t have a very good childhood so I want to give her the security I never had as a child. She is the best thing that has ever happened to myself and Bryan – better than any hit record,” enthused the former popstar.
Kerry, who does not know her father, was raised in a number of foster homes and children’s centres, as her mother Sue’s schizophrenia made it impossible for her to bring up her daughter. But the two have since kissed and made up, with Sue and Bryan’s mother present at the birth.
