Sultry star Jennifer Lopez married choreographer Cris Judd in a hush-hush LA ceremony on Saturday evening as close friends and family watched on with delight. Married in a private hilltop mansion with stunning views of the sunset, J Lo walked down the aisle in a custom-made off-white Valentino gown with plunging neckline before the two jetted off to Italy for their honeymoon.
Just 170 guests were on hand as the couple said “I do” in the fairy-tale nuptials. “It was beautiful,” says Jennifer’s spokesman Alan Nierob. “They couldn’t be happier.”
The newlyweds were positively glowing on Saturday and insiders say the kiss that sealed their union was just breathtaking. “She and Puff Daddy used to kiss a lot, but it was nothing like this,” one guest told US tabloid New York Post. “This kiss was just so romantic – like something out of a movie. Everybody who saw them embrace was enchanted.”
Jennifer reportedly spared no expense for the cliff-top wedding, held in Calabasas, California, a celebrity-strewn neighbourhood just north of Los Angeles. The Out Of Sight star splashed out upwards of $10,000 to import famed hairdresser Oribe from his post at New York’s exclusive Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Salon and also employed a team of security guards to stand at the ready.
The Bronx-born beauty’s family made the cross-country trip, including her two sisters who later held court as bridesmaids. J Lo’s childhood friend Arlene Rodriguez was the maid of honour and her manager Benny Medina served as the best man. Cris’s parents Larry and Violeta, who first met their daughter-in-law back in May, flew in from Florida.
Jennifer and Cris met on the set of her Love Don’t Cost A Thing video and were spotted in early February at a New York nightclub heating up the dance floor and sipping champagne from the same glass. The 32-year-old dancer was said to have comforted Jen in the wake of her Valentine’s Day split from rap impresario Sean “Puffy” Combs and the two later struck up a romance of their own.
This is Cris’s first trip to the altar and Jen’s second. She wed Cuban-born model Ojani Noa in 1997, though the two split just 18 months later. She and Puffy were rumoured to have discussed tying the knot, but their relationship faltered in the course of his much-publicised trial.
