Maybe it’s because their big day was beautifully homespun and low-key, but Sharon Corr and Gavin Bonnar’s Northern Ireland ceremony was voted Most Romantic Wedding in the hellomagazine.com End Of The Year poll, winning a massive 67 per cent of the votes. The July event left Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit’s Norwegian nuptials in second place, with just one-fifth of the vote. Actors Pierce Brosnan and Brooke Shields tied at third with nine per cent each for their weddings, in Ireland and California. Surprisingly, Jennifer Lopez’s marriage to her choreographer Cris Judd garnered just five per cent, while Natalie Cole’s affair won less than one per cent of your vote.

Nearly half of HELLO! readers preferred Prince William at his most down to earth, voting the moment when the future king was photographed cleaning a toilet on his gap year as their Favourite Moment Of Prince William’s Year. In descending order, other favourites, as chosen by you, were: his first day at St Andrew’s (16 per cent); chatting with supermodel Claudia Schiffer at Highgrove (14 per cent); playing polo with his father and brother Harry (12 per cent); and touring Africa on safari (10 per cent).

Though all of the infants in our Cutest Baby contest were gorgeous, Cindy Crawford's daughter Kaia Jordan took top honours with over one-third of the vote, surpassing Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi’s son Jaden Gil by 11 per cent. Two points behind them came Canadian singing sensation Celine Dion’s long-awaited son Rene Charles. And bringing up the rear came Davina McCall and Matthew Robinson’s daughter Holly Willow, trailed by Phil Collins and Orianne Cevey’s son Nicholas Grev Austin, both in single digits.

Though you voted him one half of the Most Attractive New Couple last week (along with girlfriend Penelope Cruz), Tom Cruise and his split with Nicole Kidman affected HELLO! readers the most, with 56 per cent of you saying that the actor and his flame-haired ex-wife were 2001’s Most-Missed Couple. Julia Roberts and Benjamin Bratt cornered one quarter of the market, while Kate Winslet’s shock separation from husband Jim scored 11 per cent. J Lo and her Mr Not-Quite, Sean “Puffy” Combs, got 5 per cent, while just a fraction of readers were sad at the break-ups of Minnie Driver with Josh Brolin, and Jamie Theakston from Joely Richardson.

The Most Bizarre Auction lot was a logical result – 44 per cent of you voted for Robbie Williams’s bed. Twelve per cent behind the bed came another item of seduction, Madonna’s cone bra, while Ursula Andress’s Dr No bikini got a tenth of your votes. A point behind this (two-)piece of Bond memorabilia came the manuscript for Jack Kerouac’s masterpiece On The Road. And just 6 per cent of you voted Elton John’s cars as the weirdest object to be auctioned.

“Old Hollywood Glamour” as epitomised by Marcia Gay Harden at this year’s Oscars won out easily over other trends vying for the top spot in our Most Compelling Fashion Trend category. Hipster trousers were a not-so-close second at 18 per cent, while the motorcycle jacket and boots a go-go were virtually neck and neck, each with around 15 per cent of the vote. Décolletage, a big hit with celebs in 2001, wasn’t such a hot choice for our readers, coming in last.

Your choice for Most Glamorous dress was a close call, with Catherine Zeta-Jones’s black strapless satin number edging out lovely Queen Rania of Jordan’s silk and lace gown, which she wore to meet the Queen in November. Caroline Kennedy in white silk came in third while Renee Zellweger’s vintage frock and Calista Flockhart’s pink confection rounded out the list, with 12 percent and eight per cent, respectively.

Love him or hate him, David Beckham has some pretty special fashion statements. Top of the tree, according to 62 per cent of you, are the Beckham diamonds. Bling bling! Next up in the Coolest Beckham Fashion Statement contest was the saucy cover of style magazine The Face, with 18 per cent. Cyber-David’s poster chic was not a popular look, with 12 per cent of the votes polled, while his Mohican haircut got just 8 per cent.
