Tamzin Outhwaite probably joined thousands of other women when she revealed that her fantasy one-night stand would be David Beckham. But her comments provoked an unrestrained tongue lashing from the England footballer’s wife Victoria.
Perhaps the EastEnders star, who has twice been voted sexiest soap actress, foresaw the trouble in which her choice might land her as she added: “I’m not sure that Posh would be too chuffed.”
“Not too chuffed” seems to be something of an understatement if Posh’s vitriolic response is anything to go by. “I read that some girl from EastEnders, Tamzin something, said, ‘I’d love a night with David Beckham’. Firstly, I would not say that about a married man, and second: ‘As if, love’. Thirdly, let me at her! I think it is very disrespectful,” fired off the Spice Girl in the latest issue of Glamour magazine.
While a source close to Tamzin says that the actress was “totally shocked” by Victoria’s response, the popular star, who will soon quit her £280,000 a year role on the award winning soap, shows little interest in being drawn into a catfight. Her agent also declined to comment.
