More than three years after the release of her last album, Dannii Minogue looks set to give superstar sister Kylie a run for her money, as she’s just signed a lucrative six-album contract.
“We are looking forward to working with Dannii,” said a spokesperson for her new label, London Records. Though the company confirmed the signing, it stopped short of revealing the exact terms of the former TV presenter’s deal, saying only that it was worth “a huge amount” .
The Australian beauty’s vocals on the Riva hit Who Do You Love Now helped the song top the UK charts two months ago. Dannii’s newfound success led to a bidding war among six labels, with the London Records offer coming out on top.
Fans can expect a new single in early summer with a full album planned for release late in 2002.
The 30-year-old’s most recent disc, Girl, was released in 1997 after Dannii took a three-year break from the music biz. The album featured the single All I Wanna Do, which reached number four on the UK charts and went gold in Australia.
In recent years Danni has focused on her stage career, with performances in Notre Dame De Paris, Grease and The Vagina Monologues.
