A new documentary promises to show a side of Victoria Beckham that is rarely revealed to the public. The Spice Girl opened her doors to a camera team documenting her every move for Being Victoria Beckham, in the run-up to the launch of her solo career.
The hour-long special, filmed over the course of six months, includes in-depth interviews with Posh’s equally famous husband David Beckham, as well as her parents and siblings. The slice-of-life film, to be aired on ITV1 this spring, also features previously unseen footage from the star’s childhood.
“Victoria Beckham is one of the most famous women in the world,” says ITV controller of entertainment Claudia Rosencratz, who describes the documentary as “fascinating”. “This film looks at her life both in front of, and away from the cameras and provides an insight into the world of celebrity.”
The Not Such An Innocent Girl singer perhaps hopes the documentary will shed a favourable light on her, as she recently claimed that media coverage often puts an unfair spin on stories about her and her football star husband. “I can actually see why people get irritated by me and David,” she explained on the Mike Toolan Show. “People think that’s what we are like – we have so much money, what shall we buy? Look at my Louis Vuitton bag, my Gucci sunglasses.”
She insists: “We are not like that. This person they make me out to be irritates the hell out of me, too.”
