After weeks of speculation, pop phenomenon Hear’Say has acknowledged that Kym Marsh has quit the group. Band member Danny Foster assured fans that the former quintet will continue, vowing: “Hear’Say will go on.”

Over the last two weeks the Pure And Simple stars had been holding crisis talks in an unsuccessful attempt to keep the hit group together. “We can confirm that Kym has left the band,” said Danny in an interview with Jamie Theakston on Top Of The Pops. The've pledged to go ahead with a planned tour in September, despite being “shocked” by the mother-of-two’s announcement.

The star’s departure came as no surprise to many, as it was widely reported this month that conflicts between Kim and band mate Mylene Klass threatened to break up the group. “Like any other bands there were arguments – that’s what happens,” admits Mylene. Hear’Say star Suzanne Shaw played down any current tension with her ex-band mate, saying, “Her commitment to the band has changed, and we can’t blame her for that.”

The remaining members of the group announced Friday they will be holding auditions for hopefuls who would like to take the fifth spot. A statement on the Hear'Say website reads: "Although as a four piece we feel more more united... we decided that to give Hear'Say the best opportunity, and because we owe it to our fans, we should recruit a new member."

Kym, currently engaged to EastEnders star Jack Ryder, now plans to launch a solo career. She had little comment on her departure from Hear’Say, though last night she said she “wishes the band well”.
