Enrique Iglesias is quickly becoming one of the world’s hottest properties, with overseas success in Latin America and the US, and his first UK number one with Hero. And ladies, take note: though he's been linked to actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, the hunky son of music legend Julio Iglesias says he’s still on the market and looking for love.
“I’m single at the moment, but I’m taking offers,” Enrique told Britain’s The Mirror. “It’s hard to find a woman who loves you for what you are and not who you are.”
What Enrique is can be answered fairly simply: a pop singer whose appeal is based not only on his looks, but also on his romantic heart-felt lyrics. “When I fall in love, I’m too shy to tell the woman directly, so I express how I feel by writing her a song,” he says, admitting he has sometimes been carried away by amor. “I think women are smarter than men and when you fall for one, she can do whatever she likes with you.”
And the star knows the power of his sultry compositions, confessing he loves it when girls “go wild” and “throw themselves” at him during concerts. Says Enrique: “I know that my music turns people on, makes them feel sexy, and I like that.”
The Latin heart-throb made headlines this month with the filming of his steamy video with Anna Kournikova, and, despite rumours of tension on the set, Enrique says the attraction wasn’t all for the cameras. “There was this chemistry between us…I would love to go out with her,” he says. “I was attracted to her, of course, but she is spoken for, so I guess I missed out on a good one there.”
But Anna aside, the choice to be alone right now is all his own, as he’s not quite ready to settle down. “If I was with someone, I’d have to be faithful and I am not ready for that commitment right now,” he says, adding, “Although having someone around would make me happy.”
