After almost a year together, Pamela Anderson and her rock star boy friend Kid Rock are set to wed, it has been announced. No wedding date has yet been set, however.

A spokeswoman for the actress said 31-year-old Kid Rock – born Robert James Ritchie – presented Pamela with a ring in Las Vegas. “But I don’t know what it looks like,” she added.

The couple have been together since meeting at a party in May last year. “We just sat down and started talking,” said Kid Rock in a recent interview. “The next thing you know, she’s on a plane to Detroit.”

Thirty-four-year-old Pam, a former Playboy Playmate, made the headlines last month when she revealed she was being treated for the potentially fatal liver disease hepatitis C, which she claimed to have contracted after sharing a tattoo needle with her ex-husband, Tommy Lee. The two are currently embroiled in a bitter legal battle over the custody of their two children, Dylan and Brandon. A spokesman for the former Motley Crue drummer has issued a denial, saying he “has never had hepatitis C or any sexually transmitted diseases”.

Pam told the US press in February that she planned to retire soon to spend more time with her children and Kid Rock. “He’s the best person I’ve ever met,” she told the TV magazine Extra. “He’s got the whole thing. He’s the rock star, father, lover, sweetheart.” Kid Rock has an eight-year-old child from a previous relationship.
