At almost three times the age and with more than twice the votes of his nearest rival, crooner Tom Jones has romped home in hellomagazine.com’s poll of best acts at the Queen’s Golden Jubilee concert.

In a statement to HELLO! readers, Tom said, "Thanks very much to all who voted for me as your favourite performer at Party at the Palace for the Queen's Jubilee. As I've always said, it's a great honour to perform for the royal family, and it was especially so forthis great occasion. I think the whole celebration grew far beyond anyone's expectations in London, as well as those who had a part in their own events around thecountry. It's really important for people to understand the Queen, her family and what they do, and these four days helped focus attention on that - I was just pleased to be a small part of it."

After delivering a typically gyrating performance of hits at the show, the Sex Bomb singer, who turned 62 last week, won a big thumbs-up from our readers with nearly 13,000 votes. And Tom beat off his nearest rival, Pop Idol’s 23-year-old up-and-comer Will Young, by a stiff margin of almost 7,000. Another golden oldie, 61-year-old Cliff Richard, came in at third place with 3,000 votes.

Behind the main pack were Puerto Rican pop star Ricky Martin, Sir Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Queen guitarist Brian May, while Ozzy Osbourne and Atomic Kitten sloped home with around 100 votes. And Beach Boy Brian Wilson propped up the table with a final tally of 45 votes.

The Golden Jubilee concert was held in Buckingham Palace gardens before the British royal family and an estimated 12,000 strong audience on June 3.
