Newlywed Heather Mills McCartney has given her first major interview since her romantic Irish nuptials former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney this past June. And in the chat, to be published in Prima magazine, she reveals she’s the target of resentment from a certain segment of her husband’s faithful followers.
“It’s mainly from female Beatles fans around Paul’s age,” says Heather. “Even now, they’re jealous that I’m with everyone’s favourite Beatle.”
One of the reasons he’s a fan fave is his charming, energetic personality – and Heather compares her new husband, 26-years her senior, to a real-life Peter Pan. “When you see him walking down the street, he literally skips, just like a little boy. In many ways, he’s definitely the youngest guy I’ve ever been out with.”
And, she says, the two have an understanding in their marriage that’s a far cry from her past relationships. “Men fall in love with who I am,” she explains. “But then they end up resenting my charity work because I can’t help giving myself totally to anyone who’s in need.”
With Paul, however, she feels psychologically “on an equal level”. “There are a million reason why I love him,” she continues, “but the main one is that I’m with someone who is totally secure in who he is and doesn’t resent my work.”
Though devoted to her philanthropic efforts, she’s cut down on her schedule in order to spend more time with her 60-year-old husband, who regularly brings her breakfast in bed. “In the evening, I cook and we eat together and talk,” she says. “That’s been very good for me.”
