Though hygienic Big Brother hunk Alex Sibley’s constant cleaning drove his housemates bonkers, he’s now scrubbing all the way to the bank with a £150,000 TV commercial deal for – what else? – a household cleaning product.
In the first high-profile campaign by a Big Brother housemate, the 23-year-old model will be featured in a series of £1,000,000 commercials for Domestos.
Alex, constantly seen sweeping, doing laundry and polishing windows on the programme, says he was “annoyed” with the hygiene standards in the house. “In Big Brother everyone had a go at me for going over the top with the cleaning,” he told The Sun. “I was disgusted when Alison and Jonny admitted they urinated in the shower.”
But it looks like the handsome celeb is having the last laugh, as the first 10-second ad spoofs the bathroom incident. In the commercial, Alex appears to be in the shower doing the same as Alison and Jonny, until the camera pans out to show he’s simply pouring Domestos household cleaner.
“Following the ‘Weegate’ scandal we had our eyes firmly on Alex,” says Amita Simon, brand manager for Domestos. “He and Domestos are the perfect match.”
