She may be taking a six-month break from the music biz, but that doesn’t mean pop diva Britney Spears is resting on her laurels. The Oops I Did It Again singer has taken to playing mum to her little sister Jamie Lynn while mother Lynne Spears looks after her own sister, who is recovering from a bone marrow transplant in her battle against cancer.
“Britney has had sole responsibility for Jamie Lynn lately,” Lynne wrote on her daughter’s official website. “She has played the role of me (Momma) while I am away in Houston with Sandra.”
The 20-year-old singer appeared with her younger sibling at the Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles last week. After that, they both travelled up to Canada where Jamie Lynn was shooting a commercial.
After announcing that she was taking a break from her pop star career, Britney has also been making up for lost time with her college-student sister Laura Lynn, who is currently on summer break. “The two have done the ‘girl thing’ in Los Angeles and have sunbathed in Florida,” says Lynn. “ I'm sure NYC is next on their list! There is so much laughter in the house when all the girls get together.”
