Daughter of a former US president, Oxford university student, society girl, “the new John F Kennedy Jr”... Chelsea Clinton’s merits go on and on. In her latest achievement she takes on a rather different role however: that of sitcom actress in hit BBC comedy Absolutely Fabulous.
Bill Clinton’s daughter will appear alongside the show’s stars Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley in a cameo role, which reportedly involves her trying to catch the attention of Edina and Patsy (Jennifer and Joanna’s characters) in order to appear in an issue of Patsy’s fashion magazine.
The fact that Chelsea is trying her hand at acting doesn’t mean she’s abandoned her studies at Oxford though. On the verge of starting her second year of International Relations at the ancient seat of learning, Chelsea is following in the footsteps of her dad who also studied there.
The only daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton has spent a busy summer away from academia, however, sussing out Britain's social scene and holidaying with boyfriend Ian Klaus in Europe. The couple were most recently spotted out together at the New York premiere of Red Dragon.
Chelsea's cameo forms part of the Absolutely Fabulous Christmas special and will be screened in the UK over the festive season.
