American men’s magazine GQ revealed its men of the year on Wednesday night, drawing some of the world’s most desirable men to the New York bash. Oscar winner Denzel Washington headed up the line-up of star invitees, and took home the mag’s drama actor of the year award.

Though sexy Denzel was dapper in grey, it was ultra-cool Pulp Fiction star Samuel L Jackson who took home the night’s most stylish gong. The shaven-headed actor, in dark rimmed glasses and black suit, flashed a winning smile as he pretended to read the GQ men of the year issue for photographers.

The cover boys for the latest edition of the magazine include menswear designer of the year Ralph Lauren and comedy actor gong winner Hugh Grant, who were both on hand – fresh from the high-style VH1/Vogue Awards earlier this week – to pick up their trophies.

Singer Lenny Kravitz joined Lord Of The Rings stars Sir Ian McKellan and Elijah Woods at the gala event, while other award winners included TV drama actor of the year Kiefer Sutherland and Atlanta-based band Outcast, who won band of the year.
