He may have gained international fame as a sportsman, but these days soccer hunk David Beckham has an equally high-profile for his role as an advertising spokesman. With the news that he has just signed a new £1 million deal to promote Vodaphone, it seems the England captain's presence is destined to be even more ubiquitous.
David already boasts a wide range of highly lucrative deals advertising everything from Brylcreem hair products to soft drink Pepsi. He has also put his name to sunglasses, video games, Adidas and his own children's clothing range.
In his latest deal the footie ace will promoting Vodaphone Live! a new generation mobile which can take photographs and send them as messages. In the ads David will be shown snapping himself at various locations around the world and sending the images back to his family.
German Formula One driver Michael Schumacher will also be fronting the new phone, which has a GPS system to tell the user exactly where they are located in the world at any time. The campaign, which is understood to have cost a whopping £25 million, is the most expensive the company has ever mounted.
