Pearl Harbor star Kate Beckinsale has called it quits on her nearly decade-long relationship with actor Michael Sheen, it has been confirmed.
The couple, who have a four-year-old daughter called Lily, are currently living apart, said a spokesperson for the actress. Kate and Michael, who met while working on a stage production together in 1994, had been residing in Los Angeles, but returned to London in January. The decision to go their separate ways apparently came soon afterwards.
Last year, 29-year-old Kate spoke about the pair's prospects for tying the knot. "Everyone keeps asking me all the time, including my mother," she said. "So, I said to Michael, 'Why aren't we married?'. And he said because every single time he was going to ask me, I did something annoying. Maybe if I can stop being annoying for a while he'll propose."
Martin, 33, is currently in London, having just finished the film Bright Young Things with Peter O'Toole and Jim Broadbent. Meanwhile Kate is in Prague, shooting the vampire flick Van Helsing alongside Aussie star Hugh Jackman.
