Actress Amanda Holden was among the TV beauties in the spotlight on Tuesday night at London's glittering Royal Television Society Awards. And the Cutting It star, whose show was a best drama series nominee, had some news to tell about her upcoming career plans.
Amanda, who recently split from husband Les Dennis, struck a pose in a stunning black frock as she revealed that she has a new BBC drama in the pipeline. "I can't say what the show is at the moment because it's in the really early stages, but I'm really excited."
Other popular stars of British TV were also on hand to toast the best of the small screen at the event, which was hosted by ITV newsreader Kirsty Young. Though Amanda's show was pipped by Clocking Off for best drama series, guests Melanie Sykes and Des O'Connor's programme came out on top in the daytime category. Meanwhile, fellow invitee Ricky Gervais celebrated scooping a comedy performance gong for The Office.
Other triumphs of of the night included Coronation Street, which beat out Emmerdale and Doctors for best soap, and Pop Idol which won the entertainment trophy. Flesh And Blood's Christopher Eccleston won best actor, while Julie Walters of Murder took home the best actress gong.
