Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver chose a unique gift to give to his little girl Poppy as she turned one on Tuesday – a cherry tree.
"I couldn't think what to get her," he explains, "so I thought I'd buy her a cherry tree, plant it and in ten years' time she'll have something to remember about her first birthday."
Jamie decided to call time out on his hectic schedule in order to celebrate his tiny daughter's special occasion properly. "I took the day off work and we've had a really nice day together," he said.
The heartfelt gift seems to reflect the hardworking culinary expert's shifting priorities. Though his pregnant wife Jools once said she had to "check Jamie's official website to see what he's doing", he recently announced he was putting his family first.
"I don't want to be the sort of dad who one day finds his kids are suddenly all grown up," said the soon-to-be father-of-two. "Jools and Poppy mean the world to me."
