Harry Potter author JK Rowling is celebrating the arrival of her second child, after giving birth to a healthy baby boy in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. It is her first child with husband Dr Neil Murray, whom she married on Boxing Day 2001.
Her nine-year-old daughter Jessica is also overjoyed at the news of her new brother. "Both mother and baby are doing well," said the millionaire writer's publicist.
It looks set to be another big year for the Rowlings, as the fifth Harry Potter book, The Order Of The Phoenix is to be released in June and a third movie, The Prinsoner Of Azkaban is also in production. Emma Watson, John Cleese and Gary Oldman will all be appearing in the film, with 13-year-old Daniel Radcliffe reprising the lead role.
While a pay dispute has caused a temporary delay in the production of the latest blockbuster, producers expect it to be released early in 2004. It will have its work cut out to match the success of the previous two movies, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets and Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, which grossed a phenomenal $1.7 billion worldwide.
