David and Victoria Beckham are renowned for their high-profile marriage, but when we asked readers to vote for who they thought was the world's most romantic couple, the glitzy power pair couldn't beat the affection generated by Canadian singer Celine Dion and her manager husband Rene Angelil.
Posh and Becks scored a respectable 30 per cent of the vote, but Celine and her hubby of nearly ten years pipped them to the post by 77 votes.
Our winning couple married in 1994 in a spectacular ceremony – crowds cheered as a mink-clad Celine arrived at Montreal's Notre Dame Basilica in a Rolls Royce – that was dubbed Quebec's "royal wedding". And the love that was first sparked during Rene and Celine's professional relationship only seems to grow stronger with time. The star was at Rene's side through his recent struggle with cancer, a health drama that led them to renew their vows in a lavish Las Vegas celebration in 2000.
Another celebrity romance given a rousing thumbs up by hellomagazine.com readers is that of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. The reality TV stars, who wed in 1982, came in third in our poll.
One out of ten voters selected Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, putting them in fourth place. Rounding out the list are Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, who received seven percent, and Hollywood twosome Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruz, who garnered five per cent of the total votes cast.
