Celebrities are lending their support in more ways than one to the Hollywood Bra Art Sale to raise funds for breast cancer research. More than 50 stars, including Cindy Crawford, Pamela Anderson and Rod Stewart – as well as a pair of A-list Tinseltown couples – have personally designed stunning bras for the cause.

Among the whimsical pieces up for bid at sothebys.com are singer Sheryl Crow's hot pink design, which is decorated with 150 guitar picks, and Jennifer Aniston's bra, which creatively incorporates a scan of her husband right hand, complete with wristwatch.

Other standout brassieres include Rod Stewart's nod to his favourite football team, Bette Midler's battery operated feather blooms and Michael Keaton's "eye candy", a black push-up adorned with sweets.

EntertainmentRarities.com, an associate of sothebys.com, is co-sponsoring the event, while lingerie company Frederick's of Hollywood is sponsoring the on-line auction and also provided the design kits for the project. All proceeds from the fundraiser, which was the brainchild of actress Tea Leoni, will go to Expedition Inspiration Take-A-Hike for breast cancer research at USC/Norris and UCLA Jonsson Cancer Centers in Los Angeles.
