As the rumour mill continues to churn talk of a David Beckham move to Madrid, the Manchester United star jetted in to the Spanish capital on Monday. The footballer was swamped by mobs of fans as he arrived at Barajas airport escorted by police.
The scene was much calmer later, however, as the hunky blonde, sporting his trademark hair band, warmed up under sunny skies at Bernabeu stadium in the run-up to Tuesday's Champions League game against Real Madrid on Tuesday.
The press continues to speculate as to whether Victoria Beckham's glamorous husband will leave Man U to join fellow football pin-ups Ronaldo, Figo and Zinedine Zidane on the star-filled Spanish team.
In recent days, Liverpool-born Real Madrid player Steve McManaman has been fielding a barrage of queries on the topic - in both languages. "The questions I've been asked this week," he said. "Yes, David Beckham would look good on our team. And yes, he would like Spanish food."
