The Office star Ricky Gervais is on a career hot streak, picking up two gongs at the TV BAFTAs in London on Sunday.

Ricky won an acting trophy for best comedy performance, while his hit series scooped the best sitcom award. The double triumph was the second in twelve months for the popular funnyman, who picked up a pair of BAFTAs in 2002 as well.

Best soap went to Coronation Street and reality TV reigned triumphant with I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here winning best entertainment programme and Channel 4's career swap series Faking It snagging the best features prize.

Among the celebrities honoured were David Jason, who was visibly moved as he accepted a BAFTA fellowship, as well as Murder's Julie Walters and The Gathering Storm's Albert Finney, who topped the acting categories.

But one didn't necessarily have to take home a gong to attract attention, as demonstrated by a number of celebrity beauties who strolled up the red carpet in winning frocks.

Hollywood star Minnie Driver made a surprise appearance in black lace, while sexy Melissa Messenger set flashbulbs popping with a white strapless Fifties-style frock which she apparently had to be sewn into.

Cutting It stars Amanda Holden and Sarah Parish also made for a stunning line-up, arriving with friends Nicola Stevenson and Lisa Faulkner.
