Apparently weary of reports that she played a role in the break-up of the marriage of her millionaire boyfriend Arun Nayar, actress Elizabeth Hurley has let it be known that she's no home wrecker.
As her businessman beau's estranged wife Valentina Pedroni insists Liz "stole" her husband, the Austin Powers star has sent a message of clarification through her sister Kate.
"Elizabeth is horribly upset by people saying she's a marriage wrecker," Kate told the Daily Mail. "It's completely untrue. Arun was separated from his wife and seeking a divorce when Elizabeth was introduced to him. Elizabeth had never even met Arun's estranged wife at this time so it's a complete mystery why Valentina is pretending they were great friends."
Italian model Valentina recently stated she felt betrayed by her famous acquaintance. "I was kind and sweet to Liz and then look what she does - she goes and steals my husband from me," she was quoted as saying.
Regardless of the he-said-she-said contradictions of the issue, one thing has been made clear – Arun may have to wait years if he wants to marry Liz. The 37-year-old tied the knot in Italy, where divorce laws are particularly strict. "Valentina has accepted that divorce is now inevitable, but it will still take three years to come through under Italian law," said Italian TV hostess Rosita Celentano, a close friend of the Mediterranean beauty.
