Sir Paul McCartney has once again been named Britain's wealthiest musician. The publication of the Sunday Times Rich List sees Macca topping the musical chart, with a whopping £760 million.
Having increased his personal wealth by nearly £50 million since last year, he has also managed to enter Britain's overall top 30 rich list for the first time. In the general wealth category, he climbed five places to become the 29th richest person in the UK.
He wasn't the only big mover in the rankings, however, with rock wildman Ozzy Osbourne doubling his fortune in just 12 months. The lovable madman has had a phenomenally good year thanks to his hit TV show The Osbournes and he's also made a killing from the Ozzfest rock festival which he promotes.
"The money is really rolling in the Osbourne household," says Dr Philip Beresford, who compiles the annual report. "It is quite a resurrection for the old Black Sabbath singer." Robbie Williams has also seen his wealth double, from £35 million to £68 million, meaning he is now richer than George Michael, who is worth about £60 million.
In the sports stars' category, the inimitable David Beckham was clear champion, with a £50 million fortune. The Manchester United star's bulging bank account makes him twice as wealthy as his nearest athletic rival, boxer Naseem Hamed.
