Hit TV show Will & Grace was honoured for the fifth year in a row on Saturday at the 14th Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAD) awards in Los Angeles.
The sitcom was the standout winner of the night – it was named best comedy series and one of show's stars, Eric McCormack, took home the Vanguard Award for his public commitment to the gay community.
In one of the highlights of the star-filled evening, songbird Christina Aguilera thrilled the audience with an a capella version of her ballad Beautiful. The singer, who was sporting a new brunette look, was given a special recognition gong for the tune's controversial video, which featured images of a same-sex couple kissing.
Other GLAD honorees included the HBO series Six Feet Under, which won outstanding drama, and Nicole Kidman's The Hours, which scored outstanding film. Far From Heaven star Dennis Haysbert presented the film's director Todd Haynes with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award for his work toward eliminating homophobia.
