After all the rumours of a move to Madrid or Milan, David Beckham has surprised fans by splashing out on a new house in the south of France. David and his wife Victoria have spent £1.5 million on a luxurious villa near the Cote d'Azur.
The 15-bedroom home is set in 100 acres of olive groves and also boasts a guest house and its own swimming pool. The 19th-century chateau, which is called Le Domaine Saint-Vincent, even has its own chapel.
"Victoria and David spend a lot of time in the south of France," said a spokesperson for the couple. "They usually stay at Elton John's house, so they thought it would be good to buy a place of their own. They have just finalised the purchase in the last couple of weeks."
Becks apparently fell in love with the property, located near the village of Bargemon, during a recent visit to Sir Elton's hideaway nearby. The secluded estate, which was bought from an elderly Swiss woman, also offers good security as it surrounded by dense woodland and accessible only by isolated roads.
